Amy Turnbull is an artist and an educator. She draws on neurology and psychology to understand how we perceive and process visual information. Her interest in the history of self-portraiture reflects changing cultural conceptions of self over time, and how digital media influence current representations of self.  

Amy Turnbull holds an MFA in Craft from the Oregon School of Art and Craft.  She earned an MAT with a focus in Art Education from Lewis and Clark College, and a BA in Anthropology from Stanford University. Turnbull was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Education and Counseling at Lewis and Clark College. She is represented by Blackfish Gallery.
